CUDAHY, Wis. — The Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) gave an update on its investigation of the homicide of Sade Robinson on Friday.
MCSO said it is continuing its ongoing search for additional remains of the 19-year-old Milwaukee woman. Robinson was murdered and dismembered in early April.
Maxwell Anderson, 33, has been charged with killing and dismembering her. He remains in Milwaukee County Jail on a $5 million bond, MCSO confirmed. MCSO said Anderson has not been out of custody since his arrest for Robinson’s murder.
On Monday, MCSO said at its request, Bruce’s Legacy conducted a maritime search at Warnimont Park. The park, on the shore of Lake Michigan, is where Robinson’s leg was found in April. Bruce’s Legacy is a nonprofit maritime search and rescue team. This was the second search by the nonprofit in this particular investigation. It utilized sonar under water detection equipment. However, MCSO said no additional remains of Robinson were found.
MCSO confirmed it has not slowed or stopped the investigation. It said a team of detectives, who built a criminal case against Anderson, are continuing to work on the case.
Anderson’s residence has been searched multiple times on multiple court-issued search warrants.
MCSO said it has not allowed Anderson’s family, nor anyone else, to “inappropriately enter the suspect’s home.” Once search warrants were fulfilled and potential evidence was collected, MCSO explained that legally, anyone authorized by Anderson to enter the house could do so. If authorized by Anderson, they could also take personal property. MCSO said that “no such action harmed this criminal investigation.”
MCSO also said that if Anderson’s home is sold, it would not negatively impact its criminal investigation. MCSO explained that if investigators need to re-enter the house, “they will secure another search warrant and do so, no matter who owns the home.”
