MILWAUKEE — The Milwaukee Police Department (MPD) said it is conducting an investigation “in the vicinity of the 3000 block of W. Galena Street.”

Over the weekend, officers said they found a human body part near 30th Street and Lisbon Avenue.

Hours later, human remains were found nearby, near 30th and Galena Streets, according to MPD.

MPD has not confirmed if the two findings are connected.

The investigation is ongoing. MPD and the Milwaukee County Sherrif’s Office (MCSO) said they are working together on the investigation.

This comes after a human leg in Cudahy last Tuesday at Warnimont Park near the water. Police said they have arrested someone in connection to that case. MCSO released the following statement on Tuesday:

"MCSO can confirm that a human leg was discovered in or near the water today at Warnimont Park, east of the golf course by the pump house. Cudahy Police were initially notified and in turn notified the Sheriff’s Office, which is leading the investigation. No further information is available at this time."
