  • Two years ago, Rachelle Wright founded a national travel blog with her husband, Tony Wright

  • The blog documents real travel experiences across Kentucky and the U.S.

  • Blogs are available for destinations in 14 total states

  • The Wrights hope to encourage people to find something new through documenting and sharing their experiences

Rachelle Wright lives in Hart County and has worked in the tourism industry for more than a decade. She said she enjoys seeing all parts of the state on road trips with her husband, Tony.

“We started discovering all these adorable, wonderful little places full of people who are working hard to keep their restaurants, their attractions going,” Wright said.

Two years ago, the Wrights took their passion for road-tripping to inspire others through a travel blog, Roadtripzee.

“We want to encourage people to do the small trips and not just wait for the joy of weeklong trips but take a few, small trips in your state, in a state next to you,” Wright said.

It’s real travel experiences from real people who contribute to the website and Facebook pages.

“As humans, our psychology is built that we love to share our experiences, and we also want to know what our siblings did or what our neighbors down the street did,” Wright said. “We’re hungry for information from people we trust.”

The travel site has blogs for 14 states, highlighting attractions across the commonwealth and U.S. The states featured are:

  • Alabama
  • California
  • Colorado
  • Florida
  • Georgia
  • Illinois
  • Indiana
  • Kentucky
  • Louisiana
  • Maine
  • Missouri
  • North Carolina
  • Oregon
  • South Carolina
  • Tennessee

Her latest trip was to Shaker Village at Pleasant Hill in Harrodsburg.

“These are things that we just want to make sure people know exist and are being preserved,” Wright said.

“It’s been amazing, the community that has been built in the short 24 months and the opportunities we’ve had to experience so much more of Kentucky and other states,” Wright said.
