LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The state’s largest school district readies for the beginning of the 2024-25 school year. Jefferson County Public Schools will once again be in session for teachers and about 97,000 students.


What You Need To Know

  • The first day of school for Jefferson County Public Schools students is Thursday, Aug. 8

  • Pending any make up days, the last day of school is slated for Thursday, May 22

  • Fall Break is Oct. 2-4 and Winter Break is Dec. 23-Jan. 3

  • Spring Break is March 31-April 4
