BARDSTOWN, Ky. — The FBI is back in Nelson County.

Hardin County Commonwealth’s Attorney, Shane Young, tells Spectrum News 1, the FBI is searching an area related to one of three high-profile cases.

Officers are investigating the site in connection with the Crystal Rogers case, the death of her father, Tommy Ballard or the murder of Bardstown police officer Jason Ellis.

Crystal Rogers disappeared in 2015. Brooks Houck, her boyfriend at the time of her disappearance, is charged in connection with her murder. Tommy Ballard was killed during a hunting trip in 2016 and his murderer has never been caught.

Jason Ellis was shot and killed on May 25, 2013 while he was heading home from his shift with the Bardstown Police Department.
