BARDSTOWN, Ky. — A Nelson Circuit judge is allowing the FBI to perform DNA testing on two hair samples found in Crystal Rogers’ car shortly after her disappearance in 2015.
A request to test the samples was originally made in 2016, but no court order was given to allow further testing.
According to court documents, the samples did not match other hair strands belonging to Rogers. Documents also said attorneys got two of the three men charged in her disappearance, Brooks Houck and Joseph Lawson, to agree to testing.
Counsel for Steven Lawson, who is facing similar charges, did not.
The judge ordered DNA samples be collected from Steven and Joseph Lawson.
Rogers is presumed dead, though her body has never been found.
Steven Lawson has a stand-alone trial set for May 27 in Warren County. A status hearing is set for Thursday, April 3 in Nelson County Circuit Court.
