A three-time Emmy® nominee, Meteorologist Robert Suhr, came to Spectrum News in Kentucky in Dec. 2023. Previously, he was part of the weather team at 40/29 News in Northwest Arkansas, where he forecasted everything from extreme cold to dangerous tornadoes.

Robert began his meteorological career at KX News up north in Bismarck, North Dakota, where he was exposed to some of the harshest winter weather in the United States with life-threatening blizzards and wind chills as low as 65 below zero.

A near 20-year broadcasting veteran, Robert spent a large part of his life behind the microphone in radio in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He worked as an assignment editor at KDKA Radio (the world’s first commercial radio station) and then as a sports anchor at sister station 93.7 The Fan, covering everything from the Stanley Cup to the Super Bowl.

When Robert is not in front of the camera, you can find him under a car, collecting and restoring Dodge Omnis and Plymouth Horizons. Robert’s work has been featured in national publications and he’s earned several awards.

Robert is also active in sports and enjoys playing baseball, softball and golf. He’s also been a curler for the last eight years and loves being on the ice. Robert lives with his cat, Mr. Snuggles.
