MILWAUKEE — Universities of Wisconsin President Jay Rothman announced the four finalists who are vying to be the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s next chancellor.

The finalists are Thomas Gibson, Carol Kim, Allan Klotsche and Nicolle Parsons-Pollard.

Gibson has served as the chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point since January 2021.

Kim has served as provost and senior vice president for academic affairs at the State University of New York at Albany since August 2019.

Klotsche currently serves as the director of master’s programs at UW-Milwaukee’s Lubar College of Business, and received both his undergraduate and graduate degrees from UWM.

Parsons-Pollard has served as provost and executive vice president for academic affairs at Georgia State University since February 2023.

UW’s Special Regent Committee will interview the finalists and recommend a single candidate to the board of regents for approval. UWM is also holding four on-campus forums next week for the finalists to give UWM students and staff an opportunity to interact with them. The approved finalist will become UWM’s 10th chancellor.

The chancellor search began last July, when UWM Chancellor Mark Mone announced his resignation, which takes effect on July 1, 2025. Mone has served as chancellor since 2014. He said he intends to continue working at the university as a business professor.
