MILWAUKEE — Human remains found in Illinois last month have been identified as Sade Robinson’s, Milwaukee County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) confirmed Tuesday.

MCSO said the human remains — an arm — were discovered along a beach’s Lake Michigan shoreline in Waukegan, Ill., in May.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice Crime Lab performed DNA testing on the limb to confirm it was Robinson’s.

Robinson, a 19-year-old Milwaukee woman, was murdered and dismembered in early April. Maxwell Anderson, 33, was allegedly the last person to see Robinson on April 1. He has been charged with killing and dismembering Robinson, according to a criminal complaint. In the criminal complaint, officials said that due to the “circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Robinson” and “the recovery of the human leg that was preliminarily identified as Robinson’s,” they have “concluded” that she is dead.

MCSO said the investigation into Robinson’s death is ongoing.
