WORCESTER, Mass. - The world’s most popular family game is getting a localized Worcester version and we’ve come up with a list of 40 Worcester landmarks, businesses, museums, restaurants and more that we think will make the MONOPOLY: Worcester Edition game board.
Last month, Spectrum News 1 reported Top Trumps USA received 60,000 email submissions in less than two weeks from people with recommendations on what places they want to see fill the spaces on the board.
“We wanted those who know Worcester best to get involved and send us their recommendations for the official Monopoly edition, and you delivered,” said Top Trumps USA Inc. Partnerships Manager, Afolabi Omotola, in a statement released to Spectrum News 1.
The MONOPOLY: Worcester edition game will be available online and with local retailers across the region in November.
Between now and the game’s release, Omotola says there will be opportunities for community members to get involved in the creation of the game.
The staff at Spectrum News 1 came up with a list of places we think will make it on the MONOPOLY: Worcester edition board.
The game will also include customized “Community Chest” and “Chance” playing cards, making the entire game truly a Worcester experience. We've assigned the "Community Chest" and "Chance" spaces on the game board to six of Worcester's colleges.
