WORCESTER, Mass. - Opening Day 2025 marks the earliest start to a season for the WooSox. As it marks their fifth year in the heart of the Commonwealth, Spectrum News 1 caught up with fans to hear what they love about coming to Polar Park.

“The friendliness, the comfortableness, everything," CJ Tulinao said. "There isn't anything to not love about Polar Park.”

“That we get to play in the park and stuff,” Serenity said.

From the park, to the live music and mascots welcoming fans...

“Do you have a favorite mascot?”  “Everyone,” Serenity said.

“Clara... Clara,” Delaney & Sadie Muckian said.

Polar Park fans and vendors are happy to be back for another year.

“The atmosphere of being outside, the electricity of the whole park," Wonder Bar owner Frank Prizio said. "It's really cool. It's good stuff.”

Prizio is looking forward to the Wonder Bar’s fifth season of serving Worcester fans.

“Hopefully the weather is cooperative with us," Prizio said ahead of Opening Day. "We're waiting for some great fans to show up. And just having a good season all around.”

“I love this park; great, great place. Love hanging out here," Jarvis 'JYD' Gay said. "It's awesome. It's really cool.”

“It's insane knowing that we're five minutes away here and just can come to this park," Brendan Maloney said. "It's a great experience. Great.”

Whether you’re from up the road or anywhere in New England…

“I'm from Maine," Cody Marquis said. "Pittsfield, Maine. It's like four hours away.”

Fans looking for some autographs are proud to watch players make their way from the minors to Fenway.

“We've watched (Marcelo) Mayer and we've watched Roman (Anthony) come up through Double-A," Marquis said. "It's honestly nice to see those guys interact with the younger fans. And so, I also ‘graph at Fenway, so seeing the big the big league names come over and interact with us is awesome. Especially guys like Triston Casas, Jarren Duran is phenomenal, he's the best signer on the team.”

WooSox fans are ready for another phnenomenal year of baseball.

“We're loving it. We're excited. We can't wait for the season," Tulinao said. "Go WooSox.”

Already looking toward next year, the proposed 2026 schedule is set to begin even a day earlier on Friday, March 27, 2026 - even more baseball for fans.
