LEXINGTON, Ky. — It was a 2-2 draw for the Kentucky men’s soccer team Monday against Virginia Tech.

Heading into the match, the No. 23 Cats were 2-0 and Tech was 3-0.

Agustin Lopez scored the first goal of the night in the 27th minute. It was the freshman’s first official Wildcat goal. Approximately 10 minutes later, fifth-year senior Nick Zielonka scored his first goal for Kentucky.

Just before the half, Virginia Tech answered with a free kick from senior Ethan Hackenberg that sent the ball to the bottom center of the net.

In the 88th minute, Virginia Tech capitalized on another scoring opportunity. Freshman Ian Marcano scored, tying the game.

It ended with a final draw of 2-2. Wisconsin travels to Lexington for a match on Friday, Sept. 6 and on Monday, Sept. 9, it’s the “Battle of the Bluegrass” when Louisville travels to UK.
