BURLINGTON, Ky. — The state’s third largest school district is preparing for the first day of school. Boone County Schools will soon welcome back teachers about over 20,000 students to its classrooms.


What You Need To Know

  • The first day of school for Boone County Schools students is Thursday, Aug. 15

  • Pending any makeup days, the last day of school is slated for Thursday, May 22

  • Winter break is Dec. 23-Jan. 3

  • Spring break is April 7-11

The first day of school is Thursday, Aug. 15 and the last day of school is currently slated for Thursday, May 22, pending any make up days.

Oct. 4: Professional development

Oct. 7: No school for students

Nov. 4: No school for students

Nov. 5: Election Day

Nov. 27-29: Thanksgiving Break

Dec. 23-Jan. 3: Winter Break

Jan. 20: Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Feb. 17: Professional development day

March 14: No school for students

April 7-11: Spring Break

May 20: Primary Election day; no school for students

May 22: Last day of school for students
