Fifty-six participants will put their skills to the test Tuesday, April 23 at 6 p.m. at Seneca Golf Course, Hole #8. Each finalist gets one shot at the green, placed 150 yards away (135 yards for women finalists), the Derby Festival said. If no finalist hits a hole-in-one, the contestant hitting the ball closest to the pin will receive $5,000. Spectators can watch for free, the festival added.

No one has aced Hole #8 in the event's 30-year-plus history; however, a contestant came close in 2023, when Matt Bohannon of Louisville hit his tee 9 feet, 3 inches from the cup to take home $5,000. It was his second time participating in the event and making it to the finals, the Derby Festival said.

The festival said the 56 positions in the finals include all daily hole-in-one qualifiers and four female qualifiers from Ladies' Day, plus two qualifiers under 18 from Junior Day. The remaining positions were determined during Sunday's semifinals.
