LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Spring and warmer temperatures may be just around the corner, but Kentucky Kingdom is already getting in the holiday spirit.
The park announced it will extend its season by 24 days for its first-ever holiday experience, "Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom." According to the park, the event is an $8 million investment and will include holiday activities for the whole family.
Visitors can expect to see more than one million Christmas lights as they enter the park, lighting the way to multiple celebrations. At the Holly Jolly Junction, guests will be able to make reindeer food and snack on Christmas cookies, while Santa's Village will feature the chance to meet with Father Christmas himself. Finally, visitors can immerse themselves in the Snow Zone, featuring snowflakes, a glittering tree and a four-story, 175-foot-long snow tubing hill.
Other activities include character meet-and-greets and seasonal foods, Kentucky Kingdom said.
"We truly appreciate Kentucky Kingdom stepping up and furthering their investment in Louisville with this new programming," said Cleo Battle, Louisville Tourism president and CEO. "Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom will up the ante of our city’s attractions to help keep Louisville competitive throughout the holiday season."
"We fully expect Christmas at Kentucky Kingdom to draw visitors from all around the country, giving guests the opportunity to experience Louisville’s many tourism assets while they are in town."
Kentucky Kingdom said the event will open Nov. 29, 2024, and run through Jan. 4, 2025. It encourages visitors to get a 2024 Season Pass, which starts at $74.99 and includes unlimited visits over the year.
“At Kentucky Kingdom, we pride ourselves on bringing joy to all our guests," said Carly Uglow, Kentucky Kingdom director of sales and marketing. "This year, we’re ecstatic to spread that joy to yet another season."
