LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Louisville Downtown Partnership’s Hometown Tourism Celebration aims to attract people to iconic attractions, including the Louisville Slugger Museum & Factory, KMAC Museum and the Waterfront Botanical Gardens.

“There are so many things that are very unique to our downtown that don’t exist in other parts of the city that definitely don’t exist in other parts of the region of the country,” Rebecca Fleishaker, the Executive Director of the Louisville Downtown Partnership, said.

Fleischaker says downtown office workers have not returned to pre-COVID numbers. In 2019, downtown attracted about one-third more daily visitors than in 2023, according to data from the Louisville Development Partnership

Fleischaker added, “So we know that we are on the rebound and we are working towards getting that number back up.”

Fourteen local attractions and venues are highlighted in the tourism celebration—one’s that help represent Louisville and Kentucky. The venues include the Angel’s Envy Distillery, the Louisville Ballet and Frazier History Museum.

“This is the heartbeat of our city and our state, right? It’s the economic driver for this state. So when it’s successful, the city and the state is successful. So downtown Louisville is a great spot. It’s a lot of fun,” said CEO of the Frazier History Museum, Andy Treinen.

Hotels are also offering discounts and package rates during the celebration, which takes place Feb. 1 through Feb. 11.

Anyone with a valid Kentucky or Indiana ID, local college ID or military ID will receive half-off a regular admission ticket to participating downtown venues. 

Walk-in tickets are available but reservations are encouraged.
