LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Louisville Zoo is bringing back a familiar tradition.

  • Louisville Zoo's Wild Lights is returning for the fifth year

  • The festival will run 7-10 p.m. Thursdays through Sundays March 23 through May 19 

  • More than 60 handcrafted, illuminated art displays will be featured along the zoo's 1.4-mile path 

  • The event will also feature cultural performances, handcrafted goods for purchase and food and beverage offerings 

Back for the fifth year, Wild Lights will run Thursday through Sunday evenings March 23 through May 19.

The event will feature more than 60 handcrafted, illuminated art displays along the zoo's 1.4-mile path in themed areas depicting nature, coral reefs and Chinese mythology. According to the zoo, some highlights include a blooming morning glory corridor, a 23-foot-tall octopus and a walk-through phoenix tunnel, along with interactive lanterns guests can use to enhance the experience.

The event will also feature cultural performances, handcrafted goods available for purchase and food and beverage from Service Systems Associates, the Zoo's food and amenity vendor.

A preview night exclusively for Louisville Zoo members will kick off the festival Friday, March 22, before opening to the public the next night. It is a rain or shine event and will take place 7-10 p.m. The event will also run every night for Jefferson County Public Schools (JCPS) Spring Break April 1-5. 

Tickets are available now at louisvillezoo.org/wildlights, along with more information on the festival. Wild Lights tickets must be purchased separately from regular daytime admission. Children 3 or younger do not require a ticket.
