LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Attention runners, it’s time to sign up for Kentucky’s largest day of road racing. The Kentucky Derby Festival miniMarathon and Marathon is set for Saturday, April 27, 2024. Registration begins for the races on Thursday, Sept. 7 at 9 a.m.

“The GE Appliances miniMarathon and Marathon have become Kentucky’s other big race with thousands of runners from all 50 states and several countries,” said Matt Gibson, Kentucky Derby Festival President & CEO.

For a limited time, runners can lock-in what KDF calls an exclusive registration fee of $51 for miniMarathon runners and $61 for the Marathon. KDF says the rate will increase by $1 after every 150 registrants. This promotion runs through midnight on Saturday, Sept. 9 or until the registration price point reaches $65 for the miniMarathon or $75 for the Marathon.

After the special promotion, the registration fees will be $65 and $75. New in 2024, KDF is also hosing a Marathon Relay for teams of 3 to 5 runners for $325. The virtual miniMarathon and Marathon, for those who want to run at their own pace, will be $50.

The races begin at the same time at 7 a.m. on April 27 on Main Street near Slugger Field. The races wrap up on Adams Street, just outside of the Lynn Family Stadium for both the mini and Marathon.

KDF is completing the courses for both distances and say they will be released soon. Runners in the mini and Marathon will run through Old Louisville, Churchill Downs and parts of the Olmsted Park System.

The two-day Race Expo will be April 25 and 26 at Freedom Hall. The Norton Sports Health Training Program will be available for free to all runners getting ready for the races.

 This will be the 51st annual miniMarathon and the 23rd Marathon. More information about the races can be found at the KDF website.
