LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Good news “Pub Sub” lovers, Publix has announced it is bringing a fourth store to Kentucky.
The Lakeland, Florida-based supermarket chain announced it has secured property for its third Louisville store on the corner of Flat Rock Road and Shelbyville Road.
The newest store will be a 48,387-square-foot store and will include a Publix Pharmacy and a Publix Liquor will be next to the store.
“Publix provides premier customer service, along with a deep commitment to the communities in which we serve,” said Publix Director of Communications Maria Brous in a statement. “We are excited for Kentuckians to begin experiencing the Publix difference as we continue to expand our footprint in the Bluegrass State.”
The store is expected to open in the second quarter of 2024; a grand opening date has not yet been determined.
In June, Publix broke ground on its first Louisville store. The Terra Crossing Shopping Center, just off Old Henry Road in Louisville, will feature a 55,701-square-foot store, a drive-thru pharmacy and a 3,200-square-foot liquor store. It is slated to open next year.
The company previously announced the second Louisville store would be at the northeast corner of Ballardsville Road and Brownsboro Road. It is scheduled to open in early 2024.
The fourth Kentucky store, and the first and only one in Lexington, will be at The Fountains of Palomar, at the northwest corner of Man O’ War Boulevard and Harrodsburg Road, is scheduled to open at the end of 2024.
