LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Florida-based grocer Publix will make its debut in the Bluegrass State. The supermarket chain announced Tuesday that it signed a lease for its first store in Kentucky located at the northwest corner of Terra Crossing Boulevard and Old Henry Road.

The Terra Crossing shopping center will feature a 55,702 square-foot Publix supermarket and an adjacent Publix Liquors, the first located outside of Florida.

The grand opening date has yet to be determined and will depend on several factors, like permitting and completion of the store's construction, Publix said. The store is anticipated to open during the fourth quarter of 2023, however.

Kentucky marks Publix's eighth state of operation, with locations in Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina and more.
