WISCONSIN — With the Fourth of July around the corner, it’s time to plan where you’ll settle in to watch some fireworks.

Here’s some fireworks and celebrations happening in major Wisconsin cities.

Milwaukee 

Even though Milwaukee’s lakefront fireworks will not light up the downtown sky over the Fourth of July, the city will still host a dozen Independence Day celebrations throughout the city. Enjoy parades, firework displays, hot dogs, games and more all day on Thursday, July 4.

When: Thursday, July 4, with fireworks beginning at 9:15 p.m.

Cedarburg

The 4th of July festivities begin with a parade at 10 a.m., followed by a daylong picnic in Cedar Creek Park complete with food and beverages. The Madison Scouts will also put on a special performance.

Waukesha 

Starting at 6 p.m., people can come to have fun at the Neighborhood Beer Garden. There will be a performance by The Decade: An 80s Rock Experience. The first 6,000 attendees will also get free glow bracelets.

Brookfield 

Family Fest on July 4 will be in full swing at Mitchell Park starting at 6 p.m. There will be family-oriented activities and a variety of food and entertainment prior to fireworks. Earlier in the day, enjoy a parade and bike decorating.

Madison 

Lights The Isthmus returns for a fourth year to historic Breese Stevens Field this weekend. It’s a ticketed event, featuring local bands, food and drinks and a finale 20-minute firework show launched from inside the stadium. Gates for the event open at 6 p.m. General admission cost is $13, but for kids under age 12, the event is free if they are with a paying adult.

Monona

Enjoy the Monona Community Festival from July 3-4, complete with food, wine tastings, drag bingo, a carnival and more. You can see the full lineup of events, here

Sun Prairie 

The Sun Prairie Fireworks Celebration with Badger Midgets and Wisconsin wingLESS Sprints will take place on Sunday, with pit gates opening at 1:30 p.m., front gates opening at 4 p.m. and opening ceremonies starting at 6 p.m.

Appleton 

This year, Appleton said the focus is on the fireworks. Food and drinks will not be available for sale, nor will there be live music as there has been in years past.

Eau Claire

Green Bay

The Fire over the Fox festivities kick off at 3 p.m. with live music, food and beverages, family-friendly activities and more.

Oshkosh 

Starting at 3 p.m., over a dozen food trucks are expected to grace the park. There will also be food at Reetz Ball Diamonds Concession and LakeFly Cafe. Families can also visit the zoo from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Fond du Lac 

Sit back and relax in the park as you watch fireworks illuminate the night sky.

Wausau 

Fireworks will once again light the sky over the Wausau Airport looking toward the river. The airport won’t be open to the public, but spectators can view the show from areas like Airport Park, Alexander Park, Bluegill Bay County Park or areas along the water.

La Crosse

Riverfest is the ultimate 4th of July celebration in this region. Running from July 3 to 6, the festival comes with entertainment, arts and crafts, food, fireworks and more. The Kwik Trip and Chad Erickson Memorial Fireworks Extravaganza is on July 4.

Stevens Point 

The three-day Riverfront Rendezvous celebration starts July 4 with live entertainment, various tournaments, kid zone activities like inflatable games, a parade, trivia and more. Fireworks close out the celebration on Saturday night.

Rhinelander 

On July 4, a kiddie parade will start at 10 a.m. Another parade will start at 11 a.m. from the police station on Frederick Street, followed by fireworks in the evening. During the day, enjoy live music and food.

Bayfield 

Fireworks will be set off just eastward from the Bayfield City Dock/Bayfield Marina area, after the Madeline Island Ferry Boat is safely out of range.
