WISCONSIN — The Wisconsin primary is only two weeks away — but if you aren't able to vote on Tuesday, Aug. 9, there are other options.

Starting July 26, Wisconsinites can participate in absentee or early voting. Anyone planning on going to an early voting location should bring an acceptable photo ID for voting in Wisconsin. Information on acceptable documents can be found here.

If you've moved since the last time you voted, you can also register to vote at any of the early voting locations. Voters need to have moved to the address where they're registering on or before July 12. Make sure you bring an acceptable proof of residence document with your current name and address listed. You can find what documents are acceptable here.

Voters who already requested an absentee ballot by mail can return their completed ballot to an in-person early voting location during that location's designated voting hours.

Absentee ballots for the August 2022 primary can be requested up until Aug. 4 at 5 p.m. However, please note that all absentee ballots must be returned by Election Day on Aug. 9. Absentee ballots can be requested here.

Wisconsinites who take part in early voting may also not vote in person on Aug. 9.

The in-person absentee voting period varies by municipality, so be sure to check your municipality's website for a list of dates, times and locations. Some municipal offices may not offer additional in-person absentee hours. Check for early in-person voting here, or contact your municipal clerk for absentee voting hours.
