PENINSULA, Ohio — The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad announced it's adding two historic locomotives to its fleet, which were recently acquired by the Grand Canyon Railway.

The acquisition is part of the CVSR's ongoing $3 million capital campaign, which aims to preserve vintage locomotives.

The new additions are one FPA-4 and one FPB-4 locomotive, which will soon be apart of CVSR's current collection FPA-4 locomotives. CVSR said it also hopes to purchase a few more locomotives, including two additional FPA-4 and one FPB-4 locomotive from the Grand Canyon Railway.

“We are thrilled to welcome these two (2) ALCO locomotives to our fleet,” said Joe Mazur, president and CEO of CVSR in a press release. “This expansion not only strengthens our operational capabilities but also underscores our dedication to preserving the legacy of these remarkable machines for future generations.”

The CVSR said the Leading The Way Locomotive Fleet capital campaign has already raised $1.5 million toward its $3 million goal.
