LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Metal legends Slayer will take the stage at Louder Than Life 2025 after the effects of Huricane Helene resulted in the cancelation of their Friday, Sept. 27 reunion performance at this year's festival.

Festival organizers said additional headliners and the full lineup for next year's event, set for Sept. 18-21, 2025, at the Highland Festival Grounds at the Kentucky Exposition Center in Louisville, will be announced this winter. Early bird passes for the 11th annual festival go on sale in November.

"We can't wait to welcome fans back to finish what we started this year and celebrate the return of Slayer," said Danny Wimmer of Danny Wimmer Presents (DWP), the festival's producer. "Our team is hard at work finalizing an incredible lineup that we can't wait to reveal this winter. It's going to be epic, and we can't wait to see everyone back in Louisville next September."

Single-Day Friday pass holders can receive a full refund or a credit applied to the purchase of 2025 passes, DWP said. Weekend pass holders can receive a 25% refund or a credit applied to the purchase of 2025 passes. Fans will receive emails with more details, including how to activate their offer. 

DWP added the 2024 festival, which took place Sept. 26 and 28-29, drew 150,000 fans from around the world and every state in the U.S. Headliners included Slipknot, Mötley Crüe and Korn, with Breaking Benjamin, Five Finger Death Punch, the Offspring, Judas Priest and Disturbed also among the highlights. 

"What an incredible 10 years it's been, and it's all thanks to you," said Danny Hayes, CEO of DWP, during the festival's opening day Sept. 26. "We're so grateful for the amazing 'Loudmouths' who show up every year, and even during a hurricane, you came out to celebrate our 10th anniversary with us. You are rock and roll."
