LOUISVILLE, Ky. — No. 4 Louisville volleyball fell to No. 7 Penn State in Happy Valley Tuesday night. It was their first loss of the season and the first time they were swept since 2022 in the NCAA finals.

Cara Cresse and Charitie Luper each had eight kills for the Cardinals, but it wasn’t enough in the 25-15, 25-19, 25-13 decision. Louisville moves to 2-1 on the season. They posted a hitting percentage of .091 and three blocks. Phekran Kong had four kills and three blocks, with Elena Scott adding 12 digs.

Penn State hit .358 as a team with five aces and eight blocks. The Nittany Lions were led by Jess Mruzik, who had 13 kills, and Camrym Hannah, who had eight kills and two aces.

The Cardinals head to Northern Kentucky University this weekend for a tournament featuring NKU, South Dakota and Missouri.
