LEXINGTON, Ky. — The Lexington Public Library is offering fun activities for the whole family all summer long. Students with a student success card can get a free Lextran ride to the Lexington Public Library and to venues taking part in the LexArts Cultural Pass program.
Also, in partnership with Fayette County Public Schools, LPL is providing free summer lunch at the Marksbury Family Branch (11:30 a.m.-12 p.m.), the Tates Creek Branch (11:30 a.m.-12 p.m.) and the Northside Branch (12 p.m.-12:30 p.m.), as well as snack at all all three of these locations from 3:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Lunch and snacks will be available Monday through Friday from June 4-July 26, excluding June 4 at the Northside Branch and June 19, July 4 and July 5 at all branches.
Summer activities will kick off with a series of parties at library locations. They will include a petting zoo with live animals, a book fair, surprise guest appearances from a few favorite book characters and lots of fun activities for the whole family.
Here’s the schedule for the summer kick off parties:
Northside Branch: Tuesday, June 4 from 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
Eastside Branch: Wednesday, June 5 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m.
Marksbury Family Branch: Thursday, June 6 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m.
Beaumont Branch: Thursday, June 6 from 5 p.m.-7 p.m.
Central Library: Saturday, June 8 from 11 a.m.–1 p.m.
Tates Creek Branch: Saturday, June 8 from 3 p.m.-5 p.m.
