LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The KFC Yum! Center in downtown Louisville is one of five finalists for the Academy of Country Music's (ACM) Arena of the Year award.

  • Country concerts held in 2023 included Morgan Wallen, Jason Aldean and Shania Twain 

  • The 59th annual ACM Awards are set for May 16

ACM award nominations were announced April 9. A select group of ACM members will vote on the awards, with the 59th annual ceremony set for Thursday, May 16. 

The KFC Yum! Center hosted several country shows in 2023, including the top-selling performance on the entire arena tour for Morgan Wallen and Cody Johnston. Other country concerts included Blake Shelton, The Chicks, Koe Wetzel, Jason Aldean, Shania Twain and Old Dominion.

The following venues are also nominated, according to ACM:

  • Bridgestone Arena (Nashville, Tennessee)
  • Dickies Arena (Fort Worth, Texas)
  • Hertz Arena (Estero, Florida)
  • T-Mobile Center (Kansas City, Missouri) 

The arena, which overlooks the Ohio River, attracts approximately 1 million fans annually. It hosts the University of Louisville (UofL) men's and women's basketball teams, along with several concerts yearly.
