LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Frazier History Museum has a new exhibit featuring artists, stories and more from all of Kentucky's 120 counties.
Bill and Karen Dean explored the new exhibition, "120: Cool KY Counties" Friday in downtown Louisville.
“They've just expanded, made it really accessible and current and cool," Karen said. "I love that they said, 'Cool counties in Kentucky,' and I'm not even a true Kentuckian."
But Kentucky is now her adopted home.
“I've grown to love Kentucky, definitely love the landscape," she said.
Her husband, Bill, also found the exhibition fascinating. He said whenever he has friends come in from out of town, it will be the first place to visit.
"We always go to (the Muhammad Ali Center), which is wonderful, and this is just as cool,” he said.
The couple moved to Louisville four decades ago and over the years have grown to cherish what Kentucky offers. Bill said he moved to the Commonwealth with Karen in 1979 to be a professor at the University of Louisville (UofL).
"Before I interviewed here, I had a very negative impression of Kentucky," Bill said. "People say, 'You're going to Kentucky; they don't wear shoes. They don't have teeth.' I got here to Louisville ... we fell in love with Louisville. It's a really great city."
The exhibition is open now on the first floor, and more content will be added, the museum said.
