KENTUCKY — February is the 100th anniversary of American Heart Month, which is a time to raise awareness about cardiac health and heart disease.

During this week’s In Focus Kentucky program, we’re highlighting efforts to improve heart health in Kentucky and across the country.

And that includes in Central Kentucky where Jessamine County’s EMS has taken several steps to improve its response to cardiac arrest calls. Multimedia Journalist Geraldine Torrellas explains how the local EMS has doubled its out-of-hospital cardiac arrest survival rates from 2019 to 2022.
