Geraldine Torrellas is a multimedia journalist based in Lexington.  

Originally from Puerto Rico, Geraldine was raised in Arizona. She got her undergraduate degree at the University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley, where she played on the golf team.

After completing school, Geraldine taught kindergarten and first grade for four years. It was during her time as a teacher she pursued a career in journalism.

Geraldine then went onto the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University, where she completed a Master’s of Mass Communication with distinction in Dec. 2022. During her time at ASU, Geraldine traveled with her class to Tapachula, Mexico, to cover immigration issues. She was also a broadcast reporter and anchor for Cronkite News.

Geraldine enjoys paddleboarding during her free time and is looking forward to exploring more of Kentucky.
