KENTUCKY — On this week’s “In Focus Kentucky” program, we’re sitting down one-on-one with Kentucky State Auditor of Public Accounts Allison Ball, R-Ky., of Prestonsburg.
During this segment, Auditor Ball comments on legislation filed in both the state House of Representatives and state Senate seeks to analyze how the state spends its money. Freshman State Sen. TJ Roberts, R-Burlington, has filed HCR 50 and State Sen. Lindsey Tichenor, R-Smithfield, has filed Senate Bill 257. SB 257 would require the state auditor’s office to conduct performance reviews of government programs and agencies and if signed into law, it would create a Kentucky version of the Department of Government Efficiency, known as DOGE.
The two measures have garnered more than a dozen co-sponsors.
Kentucky is one of the first states to move toward creating its own version of DOGE.
