LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The Kentucky Derby Festival announced the return of the Norton Sports Health Training Program to prepare runners and walkers for the festival’s miniMarathon, Marathon and relay. The free 15-week training program will launch with a kick-off on Thursday, Jan. 11.
The event takes place from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Kentucky Derby Museum.
The January event includes distribution of a one-sheet quick reference training plan and access to a downloadable training manual. Attendees also have the opportunity to meet with health experts, peruse running gear and speak with 2024 Race Ambassadors. Other highlights include a sneak peek of the 2024 race medals, photo opportunities and the chance to shop official race gear.
Runners and walkers can still register for the training program at the Derby Festival Marathon website. You can also register for the 2024 miniMarathon and Marathon there.
2024 marks the 51st annual miniMarathon and the 23rd run of the Marathon. The races are set for April 27.
