LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Wide receiver Jamari Thrash says he is skipping the 2023 Holiday Bowl and is giving up his final year of collegiate eligibility. The release from the University of Louisville did not specifically say Thrash was entering the NFL draft, but it is implied.

The junior wide receiver played one season with the Louisville Cardinals. He had 63 receptions for 858 yards and six touchdowns. Thrash is a second team All-Atlantic Coast Conference honoree and finished fourth in the ACC in receptions and third in yards. He helped lead UofL to a 10-3 season and an appearance in the school’s first ACC championship game.

Thrash also recorded two 100-yard games. He had a career high 159 yards on four receptions in the 21-14 win over Indiana and in a road game against Pittsburgh, Thrash caught nine passes for 120 yards.

The LaGrange, Ga. native transferred to Louisville after three seasons with Georgia State, where he was a three-year letterwinner (2020-22). He ranks fifth in GSU history in receiving yards (1,752), eighth in receptions (104).

Thrash has accepted an invitation to play in the Senior Bowl in Mobile, Ala., on Feb. 3, 2024.

UofL will play the University of Southern California in the DIRECTV Holiday Bowl in San Diego, Calif. on Dec. 28 at 8 p.m. ET.
