LEXINGTON, Ky. — Renowned musician and Kentucky native Tyler Childers will perform two shows at Lexington’s Rupp Arena on Saturday, Dec. 30, and Sunday, Dec. 31, with special guest Shovels & Rope.

Tickets for the show will be available via Ticketmaster Advance Registration. Registration for pre-sale tickets is open now through Sunday, July 30, at 11:59 p.m. Following registration, randomly selected fans will receive an access code to participate in the pre-sale starting Wednesday, Aug. 2, at 10:00 a.m.

General sales will follow on Thursday, Aug. 3, at 10:00 a.m. Find more information on the tour website.

The Lexington shows are just the latest performances confirmed for Childers and his longtime band, The Food Stamps, who are currently in the middle of a 30-date, sold-out, nationwide tour. Upcoming stops include two nights at Radio City Music Hall, Boston’s Leader Bank Pavilion, D.C.’s Merriweather Post Pavilion and two nights at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheater.

The tour added to a landmark year for Childers, following the release of last year’s triple album, “Can I Take My Hounds to Heaven?” The project featured eight songs presented in three distinct sonic perspectives — Hallelujah, Jubilee and Joyful Noise. In the years since his debut, Childers has earned two Grammy nominations and scored several appearances on national television and radio programs.

Childers grew up in Lawrence County before he began his performing career in Lexington and Huntington, W.V.
