LEXINGTON, Ky. — Rupp Arena will soon play host to Dave Chappelle. The award-winning comedian, actor and producer announced his "Dave Chappelle Live" tour this week, which features a stop in downtown Lexington on Tuesday, Sept. 12.
Tickets will be available for local presale groups on Wednesday, July 26, with tickets available for all starting Thursday, July 27 at 10 a.m. ET. You can find more information on ticketmaster.com.
Each show on the "Dave Chappelle Live" tour will be a "cellphone-free" event, meaning attendees will lock their phone in a wearable pouch for the entirety of the show. Phones can only be unlocked at the entrance of the venue.
Chappelle won the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2019 and piloted a handful of Netflix stand-up specials in recent years, including "Sticks & Stones" and "The Closer."
The five-time Emmy winner last visited Kentucky in 2022 when he performed a trio of sold-out shows at the Louisville Palace.
