KENTUCKY — The inaugural ACC/SEC Challenge comes to college basketball this year and both Cardinals and Wildcats fans can get in on the action. The UK men’s and UK woman’s basketball teams will take part, as well as the UofL women’s basketball squad.

What You Need To Know

  • This is the first year for the ACC/SEC Challenge after the ACC/B1G Challenge ended last season

  • The UK men's team hosts Miami on Tuesday, Nov 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Rupp Arena

  • The UofL women's team takes on Ole Miss in Oxford on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 9:15 p.m.

  • Rounding out play will be the UK women's team, who will host Boston College on Thursday, Nov. 30 at 7 p.m.

Tipping off first, the Kentucky men’s team hosts the Miami Hurricanes on Tuesday, Nov. 28 at 7:30 p.m. in Rupp Arena. This is just the fifth meeting between the two programs and the first in the John Calipari era.

UK is 3-1 overall in the series but fell 73-67 in their last matchup in 2008. Miami is coming off a spectacular run to the Final Four in 2023.

Next up, the UofL women’s squad takes on Ole Miss in Oxford on Wednesday, Nov. 29 at 9:15 p.m. The matchup will be a rematch from last year’s Sweet 16 when the Cardinal defeated the Rebels 72-62 in Seattle to advance to the Elite Eight.

This will be just the second all-time meeting between the Cardinals and the Rebels after their meeting in last year’s tournament. Last season, the Cardinals were 2-0 against SEC opponents, and are 21-11 against the SEC under head coach Jeff Walz.

The UK women’s team will round out the matchups for Kentucky teams with a 7 p.m. tipoff on Thursday, Nov. 30 against Boston College. UK will host in Lexington and will announce the location of the game, either Rupp Arena or Transylvania University, at a later date.

The Wildcats and Eagles have never met in a head-to-head matchup. However, the Cats boast a 55-46 all-time record against ACC opponents.

This marks the first season for the ACC/SEC Challenge after the ACC/B1G Challenge ended last season.
