LAKELAND, Fl. — Pubix Super Markets Inc. hasn't opened its first Kentucky store and already they are announcing a second location, also in Louisville.
The company announced Tuesday it will be opening a second store to be located at the corner of Ballardsville Road and Brownsboro Road in the east end of Louisville.
The specs of the store mirror the one planned off of Old Henry Road. It will be a 55,701-square-foot supermarket with a drive-thru Publix Pharmacy and an adjacent 2,800-square-foot Publix Liquors offering beer, wine and spirits.
The company hasn't said when it would open, but they are planning for first quarter in 2024.
In its news release, Publix CEO Todd Jones said he was happy to see the company's growth in Kentucky.
“We are proud to be planting roots in Jefferson County and look forward to building lifelong relationships with our new customers,” he said. “With two planned stores currently in development, we are excited to continue sharing our Publix culture and commitment to service with the Bluegrass State.”
Publix announced the first store in Kentucky in September. With the two news stores, Publix will be doing business in eight states.
