LEXINGTON, Ky.- As protests continue in downtown Lexington, the Urban County Council Members held a news conference Monday to discuss the response to recent protests.

Along with other changes the City of Lexington is working on, the city council members and public safety committee will be reviewing the Lexington Police Department's policies and procedures in a meeting on Tuesday.

The meeting will focus on the demands of the protesters by reviewing the use of no-knock warrants, statutory authority, and collective bargaining. 

“We hear you. We're committed to working. We're committed to address areas where we need improvement and also reinforce in areas that we are doing well. ” 1st District Councilmember, James Brown said.

The meeting on Tuesday will begin at 1 p.m. via Zoom and is expected to go until 3 p.m.
