Meteorologist Alan Auglis is an AMS Certified Broadcast Meteorologist. He joined the Spectrum News weather team in Kentucky in August 2018. Since then, Alan has joined the National Weather team at Spectrum News.
Alan was born and raised in Maryland just outside of DC. He received his bachelor's degree in meteorology from Millersville University of Pennsylvania.
Alan began his career as weather producer at WJLA ABC 7 in Washington, D.C. During that same time, he worked weekends, on air in Salisbury, MD at WMDT.
The following year, Alan moved to Hagerstown, Maryland and was a meteorologist at WHAG for three and a half years. After that, his next journey took him farther south to Roanoke, Virginia where he worked for another three and a half years. While in Roanoke, Alan covered all types of weather from snowstorms to hurricanes and tornadoes. His expertise in winter and summer weather makes him a perfect fit for the weather across the nation.
Alan enjoys cooking and trying new recipes. He also loves to landscape and garden and said he always wanted to be either a landscape architect or a meteorologist.
