BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — Paranormal activity isn't just a movie franchise. For Steve Miller it is part of his life, the Bowling Green man has been chasing spirits and ghosts for 11 years now.
He says ghosts and paranormal activity fascinated him from an early age.
“I've been interested in ghost hunting since I was young," said Miller "My mom passed away when I was young and ever since that death at a young age it drew me into what happens to people after they die.”
Miler travels throughout south central Kentucky looking for them, but his go to is the Octagon Hall Museum in Franklin, which he says is full of paranormal activity. The building is 174 years old and has many haunted occurrences says Miller.
“I’m trying to collect data, research it and see if I can link it to the place or the people who live around here," said Miller. "I also check to see the intelligence of the entities that live around here and ask questions to further the research on paranormal activity.”
Miller says he has many stories using items like his spirit box and others. He also works closely with his partner Barry Gaunt who says Oct. is a prime month for spirits to appear.
“There are certain times in the season when the energies change and Oct. is one of those times," said Gaunt "The veil gets thinner and the spirits can communicate easier so that is why we love Halloween.”
During Halloween the Museum is home to novice hunts as well for those who are interested in potentially finding and seeing paranormal activity.
