LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti has announced that car washes and pet grooming, training, and retail businesses will be able to reopen. While businesses can open for business, protocols will be put in place mandating that customers drop off and pick up their pets, without entering the businesses.
In the case of mobile services, pets may be picked up or dropped off at individuals' homes.
Car washes will also be allowed to reopen in Los Angele. Previously, only automated and self-service washes had been allowed to operate.
Additionally, Mayor Garcetti address steps the city would be taking to protect skilled nursing facilities, which have been particularly hard hit during the coronavirus pandemic. These measures include monthly testing for residents and workers, and providing test kits from the city's mobile team, if facilities are not able to provide their own.
The mayor specified that all businesses that reopen must adhere to the city's required protocols for safe operation.
