ANAHEIM, Calif. — Less than 24 hours after the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers play in the big game, Disneyland will, once again, throw a parade for the NFL Super Bowl's most impactful player or players (and their families).

  • The traditional celebratory cavalcade began in 1987 and celebrates the player or players Disney chooses to say the famous catchphrase, "I'm going to Disney World" or "I'm going to Disneyland."

  • This is the third time in as many years Disneyland will celebrate the Super Bowl's most impactful player or players

Disney announced Friday that the traditional celebratory cavalcade feting the game's star player or players along Main Street, U.S.A., will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Disneyland.

Disneyland usually hosts the parade when the Super Bowl site is located on the West Coast.

Meanwhile, Disney World in Orlando, Florida, plays host to the cavalcade when the big game is on the East Coast or South.

The tradition began in 1987 after Disney scored a big hit with its "I'm going to Disney World" or "I'm going to Disneyland" commercial that immediately plays after the game's conclusion.

Disney officials track the players' performances throughout the game.

Once the game is complete, Disney officials rush down the field and choose the star player or players to say the famous post-Super Bowl catchphrase, "I'm going to Disneyland" or "I'm going to Disney World." The player and their families are then whisked away to the Magic Kingdom in Anaheim or Florida to celebrate.

Disneyland hosts the annual parade for the third time in as many years.

Last year, Disneyland hosted Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes after Super Bowl LVII in Glendale, Arizona.

In 2022, Disneyland celebrated Rams star players Aaron Donald, Cooper Kupp and Matthew Stafford after they helped defeat the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI in Inglewood.
