COSTA MESA, Calif. — Luxury jeweler Tiffany & Co. is as well known for its little blue boxes as it is for diamond rings. Now that premium wrapping can be experienced in the form of a restaurant, at Tiffany’s new Blue Box Cafe in South Coast Plaza.

Serving American classics made from regionally sourced ingredients, the new cafe is serving a limited but extravagant menu with pricing that complements its environs.

What You Need To Know

  • The Tiffany Blue Box Cafe is a new restaurant located inside the recently expanded Tiffany & Co. store at South Coast Plaza

  • Breakfast at Tiffany's, tea for two, and celebration cake are on the menu and can be had with Tiffany tableware

  • Due to COVID, the cafe is only available to go, but full service is expected in Spring 2021

  • The Blue Box Cafe in Costa Mesa is the second Tiffany has opened, following its flagship launch in New York City in 2017

The cafe is tucked inside the newly expanded Tiffany & Co. store on the mall’s main level, which doubled the size of its previous space when it opened on Black Friday. It is the first North American Tiffany location to preview its 18-karat rose gold T1 bangle and ring, priced at $32,000 and $7,500 respectively.

Comparatively, the Tiffany foodstuffs are a steal. A tea for two includes scones, tea sandwiches, and petit fours that costs $150 for takeaway and $900 if ordered with Tiffany’s color block bone china set.

The celebration cake crafted from white chocolate, feulletine, and citrus passionfruit cremeux is $90 on its own, or $370 if it’s ordered with china and crystal service that includes an ice bucket and a pair of champagne flutes.

And then there is the meal as classic as the 1961 Audrey Hepburn film that inspired it: a breakfast at Tiffany & Co. for two for $120 with chia seed yogurt pudding, a croissant, avocado toast, smoked salmon, and, of course, Tiffany blend tea.

A classic Tiffany tea set, complete with dessert plates, creamer, and sugar bowl, can be had for $870.

Because of COVID, the cafe is currently only offering its menu to go, but full service is planned for next spring, pandemic permitting.
