LOS ANGELES (CNS) — "A Quiet Place Part II" starring Emily Blunt and directed by her husband John Krasinski continues to scare its way to the top of the North American box office, grossing $11.65 million in its third weekend with a cumulative total of $108.99 million, according to industry estimates out Sunday.
Paramount's horror flick was just ahead of newly released "In The Heights," a Warner Bros. film from the creator of "Hamilton" and director of "Crazy Rich Asians." The musical opened to $11.405 million, Comscore reported.
In third, Sony's animated family film "Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway" took in $10.4 million.
"The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It," a Warner Bros. horror film starring Vera Farmiga and Patrick Wilson, came in fourth, grossing $10.02 million.
Disney's "Cruella," which stars Emma Stone, earned $6.7 million in theaters over the weekend for the fifth top spot. The movie is also available on Disney+.
Rounding out the top 10 domestic releases, as estimated by Comscore, were "Spirit Untamed" ($2.5 million), "The House Next Door: Meet The Blacks 2" ($1.06 million), "Wrath Of Man" ($614,809), "Queen Bees" ($328,300) and "Spiral" ($305,000).
