LOS ANGELES — Texas native Jill Jacobson, an actress known for “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and the soap opera “Falcon Crest,” has died at age 70.
The news was reported by USA Today and several other outlets.
Jacobson died in Los Angeles on Dec. 8 following a long illness, it was reported.
Jacobson was born in Beaumont, Texas, in 1954. She grew up in Beaumont and Dallas.
The actress attended the University of Texas at Austin, graduating with a degree in radio, television and film performance.
Jacobson moved to Los Angeles in the 1970s to pursue acting.
Among her extensive credits are television shows including “Days of Our Lives,” “Newhart,” “Quantum Leap,” “Murphy Brown” and “Who’s the Boss?”
Jacobson appeared in films including “Splash,” “After the Storm” and “Nurse Sherri,” her first role.
Besides acting, Jacobson performed standup comedy and worked as an executive producer.
Following a cancer diagnosis, Jacobson volunteered as a spokesperson for the American Cancer Society.
