MADISON, Wis (SPECTRUM NEWS) — The Department of Workforce Development trying to help as many job seekers as possible, but staff simply can’t help them in person during the ‘Safer at Home’ Order. Secretary Caleb Frostman says the best way to apply for unemployment right now is through their web portal.
He says his office has been flooded by a requests.
“For reference last Sunday, approximately 10 days ago, we had 1,500 claims, and Monday of this week, 21,000 claims, so pretty rapid increase, it’s been consistent.”
