WORCESTER, Mass. - The Doherty boys basketball team trailed by one point at the half to Norwood in the Division 2 sweet 16 of the state playoffs, then the Highlanders exploded in the 3rd Quarter outscoring Norwood 22-7 enroute to a 77-55 win.  Ryan Dennis led the way for Doherty with 29 points and  15 rebounds, while Jamel Walker had 18 points, 7 assists and 3 steals, Josh Romeo poured in 13 points for the Highlanders who improve to 18-4 on the season and are at Malden Catholic on Friday for a quarterfinal matchup.  In the Division 4 round of 16, Clinton got revenge on David Prouty winning 74-52 in boys hoop, last year Prouty knocked Clinton out of the state tourney, this time around the Gaels came out hot and never let up enroute to a 74-52 win.  Four players hit for double figures for Clinton, Davis Lunn had 24 points to lead all scorers, Christian Green had 17 points, Ethan Frisch had 14 points, and Patrick Mahan had 11 points. Clinton is 21-2 on the season and they face Georgetown on Friday at Shrewsbury High School at 6pm.
