GREEN BAY, Wis. — Packers running back Josh Jacobs said he has no sympathy for the Lions and their defensive injuries heading into Thursday night's NFC North Division showdown in Detroit.

“I don’t care about it," says Jacobs. "It’s the NFL. Next man up mentality. We got that same mentality, so I don’t really care who was in. Names and numbers, they're faceless to me.”

Jacobs knows the Lions won the first meeting, 24-14 on Nov. 3 at Lambeau Field, but he's far from intimidated.

“I remember we did a lot of things that hurt ourselves," said Jacobs. "I feel like we were playing catch up for the whole second half of the game. It's going to come down to the wire, but it'll be a better game.”

In fact, this is exactly the kind of game that Jacobs came to the Packers for.

“They've been rolling," said Jacobs. "They've been playing really good ball. We feel like we've been playing good ball, too. They’re the top of the division, and that's what we’re hunting, so it's gonna be fun. I love these type of games. I feel like they bring out the best in me. I feel like I'm a competitor, so whenever I get a chance to prove to myself or prove my team right, something that I always look forward to doing.”

Jacobs said don’t worry about his workload. He said he feels great and has even pleaded his case to Packers coaches.

“They'd be getting on me because they’ve wanted me to take less reps, but I think it's important for the guys to see me work,” said Jacobs. “I think it's important to get the reps, so I'll practice. I think, for me, it's what I'm used to and been doing it for so long. I feel like the running back room in general, we kind of set the tone for the team. So, each day, regardless if it's practice or game, we try to come out and do that.”

Jacobs is currently at 987 yards rushing, but he says the 1,000 yard milestone pales in comparison to winning.
