GREEN BAY, Wis. — It’s a big NFC North Division matchup Sunday at 3:25 p.m. at Lambeau Field when the 6-2 Green Bay Packers play the 6-1 Detroit Lions.

Detroit has the best record in the NFC and they’re off to their best start since 1956.

The Packers can vault ahead of them with a victory.

Here are three things to watch in that game.

Lions getting comfortable at Lambeau

This is the 93rd consecutive season that the Packers and Lions are playing. While the Packers are 28-5 against the Lions in the state of Wisconsin since 1992, Detroit has won the last two games at Lambeau Field. The Lions haven’t won three straight in Green Bay since the Phil Bengston era, 1968-1970. Keep in mind, the Lions played many times in Milwaukee.

Head coaching matchup

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur is a native of Michigan. He’s just 2-4 against current Lions head coach Dan Campbell, who’s changed the football culture in Detroit. Last season, the Lions won their first NFC North Division title. Detroit is still seeking their first Super Bowl appearance.

Good Goff

Lions quarterback Jared Goff has gotten some early mention for NFL Most Valuable Player.

So far this season, he’s thrown 13 touchdown passes and just four interceptions. Goff and LaFleur worked together in 2017 with the Los Angeles Rams.

This is the Packers’ last game before their bye week. It’s the fourth time in LaFleur’s six-year tenure that the bye has been Week 10 or later.
