MADISON, Wis. — Coldplay is headed to Camp Randall Stadium next summer for their ongoing world tour, according to an announcement made by the band Tuesday morning.

Coldplay will be at the Madison venue on July 19, 2025. It’s the first concert at Camp Randall in nearly 28 years.

“I could not be more thrilled about the news that Coldplay will be coming to Camp Randall Stadium next summer!” said Chris McIntosh, director of athletics at the University of Wisconsin, in a press release. “Our facility has a history of hosting iconic musical performances and an incredibly popular act like Coldplay will only add to that legacy. I appreciate our partners at FPC LIVE for their collaboration in making this happen. The return of a concert to our historic venue will be fantastic for the greater Madison community!”

The concert follows the release of the band’s 10th studio album, “Moon Music,” and continues their “Music of the Spheres World Tour,” which has sold over 10 million tickets since its launch in March 2022. The announcement of new venues is part of the band's "efforts to reach every corner of the globe," according to a release.

Wisconsin is one of 10 North American shows announced as a tour stop by the band for next summer. It’ll be the first time Coldplay has been in Madison.

“Today is a monumental day for the University of Wisconsin and our city. We are excited to have Coldplay usher in the next era of live music in Madison, one in which the largest artists in the world will have a home in this historic stadium,” said Scott Leslie, president of FPC Live, in a press release.

Businesses around the area are excited about the prospect of more summer concerts at Camp Randall, which is usually a slower time for them as students leave campus.

“There’s really not much that we get from the summer," said Gabriela Mendoza, manager and server at Camp Cantina, which is across the street from the stadium. “Most of the businesses around here that I know of are family-owned, so it would be an awesome boost to our revenue.”

Leaders said Coldplay could be the start of more concerts and events to come as UW looks to boost revenue sources.

“Events like this make our economy work. This is also an amazing opportunity to showcase what makes Madison great, an economically strong, equitable and inclusive and vibrant place,” said Jason Ilstrup, president of Downtown Madison, Inc., at a press conference.

According to the band, the concert will feature hits off their “Music Of The Spheres” album, new singles off their newest record “Moon Music” and iconic tracks, like “Yellow,” “The Scientist” and more.
